...and they want their chandelier back. By all means, they are welcome to have it. Leslie recently found a killer deal on two new chandeliers for the entry and the dining room, and thank the heavens! The only complaint I could ever have about this truly gorgeous house were the ridiculous, too-small-Wendover-casino-imitation-luxury-brass-plated-white-trash-fabulous fixtures installed in its two grandest spaces. I never believed the real estate gurus who swear that updating light fixtures adds mega value to a home until today. The new fixtures look amazing in real life (my feeble photography equipment and lack of skill just don't do them justice) and I could sit and look at them all day.

Some things give me physical pain to see, and that was one of those things. Ouch. But, now I can sleep knowing of the improvement and boy was it ever an improvement. I'm grateful for HGTV and all those other design shows that seem to be watched by more and more people. My mom even watches them now, wow. I think that "What not to wear" show has helped a lot of people, not me maybe, but at least those who think a size 20 lady would look good in spandex worn by a size 8 lady. Keep those girls in there please!!!
So last summer we replaced all the light fixtures in this house which is the house that I grew up in and it seriously is a huge difference! All the fixtures were different colors and styles and I don't know what my parents were thinking when they had bought them but now that we have new ones in you don't notice them because they look so much better where before that's all that you could notice so I know how that is.
